These days at Nürburgring, the photographers caught the BMW’s new M3 pick-up making a test-drive. There isn’t much information the BMW new machine other than it looks for all the world to be an M3 pickup.
We left out of comments about the BMW engineers’ plans, though an M3 pick-up is assumed to have the same 4.0-liter V-shaped 8-cylinder engine found under the hood of the actual BMW M3, which is got 414 horsepower.
This M3 pick-up is not the first M3 pick-up built by BMW M Division. When CAR visited M HQ back in 2007 the engineers had a created a 1980s 3-series with its rear-end chopped to look like a pick-up, powered by a four-cylinder engine from an E30 M3 and the requisite limited slip diff (LSD).
Unfortunately, as Road & Track magazine has confirmed BMW M3 Pick-up will not be entering production, remaining only as a prototype model.
